And challenges abound
Where robots are built and thinkers are bred
Students are scientists, historians and poets
Where math becomes art -- and art becomes math
The school I’d like to avoid some days -- at 5:30 am
Is the school that I cherish:
Hartford.
The school where ideas come alive.
Where art leaves people speechless and
Singing touches people’s hearts,
Is the place I learn best.
The school with a freedom of speech
School that helps my future.
A school that opens its arms to any race, culture or religion
The school where vibrant faces don’t go unnoticed,
Where smiles lift people’s spirits.
The school that forces you to communicate
And make friends.
The school with so many different personalities,
School of my being.
A school that shows true community,
And is one of a kind,
Is what makes Hartford special.
Hartford is my haven
School of privilege and adventure.
With memories I’ll carry to high school.
A school I respect.

Brittani is an eighth grader on the Golden Honor Roll at Hartford University School. She will attend Rufus King High School in Fall 2010. She aspires to be a poet and choreographer.
