Dr. Ellwood - shoots buckets for bucks with Bucks!!!
The Bradley Center was the place to be on March 12th! The building was all abuzz as the Hartford community showed up to cheer on Dr. Ellwood as she attempted to make a few baskets to help the Hartford community. Ms. Jones was there with Jacob, and Ms. Peoples was there as well. Ms. Sullivan and Ms. Carrington were there with their husbands, as were Cameron and Xavier Travis, with their cousin Jalen (and Mrs. Travis). Other famous faces in the crowd included Jada Carter and her dad; David, Audrey, Beth, and Rob Biskobing; Donald McGraw and his father, Donald McGraw Sr.; Ace Evans and his family; Lucy, Bella, Becky, and Dan Burzynski; Sierra Rojas and her family; and Savante Scott and Laurence Scott. Everyone in the building knew that Keegan Mielke and Sam Alioto were there — they both got screen time on the Jumbotron. Keegan was announced as the honorary team assistant for the game, while Sam’s great dance moves finally got a public showing. Many of the kids present also recognized Jonathan Friday, the Big Brother/ Big Sister coordinator, as he cheered on Dr. Ellwood.
All of the Hartford people must have been really excited, because Dr. Ellwood got the biggest ovation of all the principals there. Her first shot went in without any trouble, and earned the school $250 from the Bucks! The free throw proved a little trickier, and she just missed it. Her half-court shot showed excellent form, but just didn’t quite make it. It was still a great night and a fun way to raise some money for the school
Thanks to Mr. Kazmierski for his excellent coaching. She may not have made all the shots, but Dr. Ellwood’s form was perfect. She was especially lucky to have the guidance of her two managers, Donald McGraw and Jeremiah Wood. They provided great support and encouragement to Dr. Ellwood. Thanks to the entire Hartford community during Dr. Ellwood’s quest for basketball glory.
