"Hot this minute"
This year's annual science fair on March 31st was an amazing event! Not only did it feature our top-notch Hartford Scientists' tough investigative work, but the collaboration from GE Healthcare added a whole new level of hands-on science excitement! Scientific process projects from all grade levels were represented throughout the first floor, adn there was some incredible work displayed! Students and families could also experience activities including: using a SmartGrid – make paper images “leap” to 3D life on a screen, learning to use the amazing features of Google Earth to see any location on the planet, trying out Imagination Cube – learning to make a SmartBoard from a Wii, listening to their own heart on a real heart monitor, and using a real ultrasound to capture images and “Viewpoint” to send and receive those images to laptops. Hartford thanks its students for their incredibly hard work use of their keen scientists' minds, as well as GE Healthcare, for providing lots of "real life" equipment and fun givaways. A great time was had by all!!

The principal, Dr. Cynthia Ellwood, tells us that several times a year students from teh UW-Milwaukee Early Childhood Education Science program set up more than a dozen exploration stations at the school. They work with chidlren who move from one station to another. THANK YOU, UWM!!!
